Ads on TV
On this page
Location: Merchant Account > Ads on TV. Dependency: active base account and active Ads on TV add-on, enabled for your business. It is not automatically included in every base plan.
Activate, upload and publish
- Open Ads on TV and check add-on status, expiry and current limits.
- Use the offered purchase/extend flow if available. Review service dates, tax and amount before Pay now. Payment acceptance alone is not proof of activation; check status afterward.
- Use the upload action and choose Video or Image.
- Select your own permitted media. Enter Ad name; it is an internal name used in reports.
- For images, choose Show on TV for. Review the selected duration/size.
- Use Upload & show on TV. Wait for upload and publish confirmation. If the active limit is full, it may save paused; pause another item before activating this one.
- Check playback on a paired, online TV. Use Preview, Rename, pause/activate or Delete as offered by the item's menu.
Default media limits
| Item | Inspected default |
|---|---|
| Stored creatives | 10 |
| Active creatives | 5 |
| Video maximum | 60 seconds, 50 MB |
| Image maximum | 10 MB |
| Image time | Default 10 seconds; minimum 3 seconds; upper bound follows current ad duration limit |
| Accepted images | JPEG, PNG, WebP |
| Accepted videos | MP4, WebM, MOV; actual TV codecs may support fewer |
Account/environment overrides can change limits. The app's current limits take priority. MP4 with common H.264/AAC encoding is a safer starting point than assuming every accepted upload format will play on every TV. GIF animation is not an advertised supported creative format.
Ads show between queue viewing periods when timing permits. Calls interrupt ads and prioritize the announcement; do not expect an ad to continue hiding a call. If media is unreachable or unsupported, the board should keep the queue usable and retry/skip the media. A busy queue may leave little time for ads.
Ad Report
Open the available Ad Report action. Choose 7, 30 or 90 days. Interpret plays/completion information as device playback reports, not verified human views, reach or sales. Network failure can delay upload of playback reports. An ad completing playback does not prove that a customer watched it. Paid network advertising income or guaranteed campaign revenue was not verified as a merchant operating feature.
